With almost a decade of experience in the literary industry, Shunda Leigh's hard work and dedication has successfully prepared her for a new monumental moment. She takes pride in being "the avid reader's" avid reader and is the president of one of America's largest African American Women book club's (Circle of Friends II Book Club - Atlanta). Shunda has worked as a bookseller for a national retailer and has been afforded two gracious appearances on the renowned OPRAH WINFREY SHOW (1997, 1998). COF II Book celebrated eleven years of being together as a book club in January 2008.
Her vision for literary expansion is to unite African American authors and avid readers and provide them a uniform platform where their voice of expression can be equally heard. Early spring of 2002, the vision became a reality when Shunda and her partners launched Atlanta’s premiere literary event promotion agency, Booking Matters.
Booking Matters Promotion Agency has successfully promoted hundreds of mainstream and self-published African American authors. With the creation of Booking Matters Magazine, the agency can effectively reach hundreds of thousands of people and promote an unlimited supply of authors between the pages of this unique literary magazine. Shunda continues to walk in her destiny as a leader and has created a much needed forum for Atlanta Book Club presidents which meets monthly to discuss ways to enhance reading groups. This group consists of over 50 plus local book presidents, who collectively represent thousands of organized avid reading book club members.
